contemplative practice

"A woman on a spiritual path is a woman of joy; who knows what it means to trust in herself.  She lives for wisdom and free from fear; rejoices in her own uniqueness." ~ Christina Feldman

it's all about inspiration to slow down~

One of my biggest lessons in this lifetime (which I would go so far as to say is true for many of us in Western US culture) is to slow down... I know it's true, but it's still annoying, and also my biggest challenge all the same!  My contemplative practice is deeply steeped in experiencing my body/mind through meditation, dance, and yoga... which are all about slowing down, coming to the present, and increasing awareness and response.  I am inspired by my very special women mentors who model what it is to live contemplatively with a great deal of self compassion and care, and have guided me in my own journey of exploring the idea of health.
Fierce women, leading by example ~ a few of my mentors (there are so many more)~
  • Susan Aposhyan and Body-Mind Psychotherapy
  • Robyn Benincasa and the Project Athena Foundation
  • Susan Piver and the Open Heart Project
  • Kelli Davis and Kelli Davis Designs
  • Sara Avant Stover and The Way of the Happy Woman
  • Veronique Mead
  • Melissa Michaels and Golden Bridge
And a few more ~
  • Shambhala
  • Naropa University
  • Douglas Brooks
