theoretical orientation~
Movement is life, and life is movement. A vast potential for experiencing the full spectrum of every moment exists, if we choose to say "yes." Our deepening into our lives can be supported by exploring the continuum of body/mind/spirit/community. Everything we need to heal already exists inside of us, and is asking to be expressed. If we can have the courage to peel back the layers, we will arrive at our ever beautiful and changing authenticity. It is time to accept the invitation to go into the body, rather than away from it. Aren't you curious what might happen?
body-centered psychotherapy and dance/movement therapy~
Both Body Psychotherapy and Dance/Movement Therapy emphasize and utilize the innate wisdom and intelligence of the body in healing the holistic mind/body experience. This enables the therapist to use the body as a tool for awareness, and integration. Movement is used psychotherapeutically to further the emotional, cognitive, physical and social integration of the individual. In a therapy session body-based work can range from awareness of breath to creative movement, depending on the unique needs of the client.
